Our Story

Investing in Dreams

Hello! Welcome to our website. Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. It was founded in Oakland in 1921 by Violet Richardson, who coined the term "service club."

SI Davis formed in 1954. We are an active group of professionals, volunteers and retirees dedicated to serving our community year-round through programs, projects ... and beer.

Our Work

If you know us at all, you know we're involved.

Our club members work to support:

  • Women and girls' access to education and career development

  • Foster children and aged-out foster youths

  • Community nonprofits like women's shelters and crisis nurseries

  • Victims of human trafficking and sex slavery

  • A whole lot more!

Our Mission

Women and girls have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams.
