Any Soroptimist in the club can sponsor you for membership. The membership chair can help you find a suitable sponsor.

Service Commitments

Members are required to serve on a committee and to participate in the beer booth and the annual fundraiser.

Annual Dues

Payment of annual dues and an application form will establish you as member, after which you will be inducted in a short ceremony at a luncheon meeting.
Dues are paid each year in June for the following year which begins July 1.

Affiliations

Venture Club is our affiliated service club for young women.

Soroptomist International of Greater Davis is a separately chartered club that joins us for regional events.

Both Davis clubs are part of the Sierra Nevada Region of the Soroptimists of the Americas, one of five international federations

Our History

The first Soroptimist club was formed in 1921 by a group of 80 women in Oakland, Alameda County, California. The name Soroptimist is a coined name meaning "best for women."
